Your 2012 UU Auction Gala Checklist!
o Mark your calendar and plan to attend The party is Saturday, March 31, 2012. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. at the church on 8470 Goodwood Boulevard. Live auction starts at 7:00 p.m. Checkout should be complete by 9:30 p.m. Admission at the door is $12 which includes wine and superb, nourishing, hearty, excellent, superior, choice, tempting, tantalizing, seriously oofy hors de oeuvres.
o Volunteer to help throw the party Volunteers needed to help move chairs out of the sanctuary, set up tables, arrange auction items, prepare and/or serve food, take down tables, move chairs into the sanctuary, and sell raffle tickets. Donate bottles of wine or food for the auction party.
o Donate something to sell Donate a service, teach a skill, offer a get-away opportunity, give art or jewelry or other valuables, provide event tickets…….the opportunities are limited only by your imagination! Space is limited. The minimum value of donated items should be $25.
o Seek donations from others Ask your favorite restaurant or other merchant for gift certificates….a meal for 2, a gift basket or gourmet items or a certificate for a dollar amount.
o Give as a group Are you in a Branches group or other continuing group, team or committee? Have your group consider giving a party for X number of people or places at a dinner.
o Buy and sell raffle tickets Even if you won’t be able to make a personal appearance at the auction, you don’t have to miss the fun and excitement. GREAT raffle prizes will be given away at the raffle drawing at the Gala (but you do not need to be present to win). Tickets will be on sale on Sundays at church.
o Check out donated items online at http://UCBRAuction.com Scope out the treasures for bid. Gather your friends and plan to bid and buy a party or event. Plan to bid on a get-away opportunity. Identify services that you need.
